Re-Certified, through our
Re-Certification Program (If your Certification is over 8 years old) - ALSO: Many
dancers take the Intensive simply to bring their personal dancing up a level. Registration is still open for the full week
Intensive, but is rapidly reaching capacity.

MONTEREY INTENSIVE -
$425 (includes all printed materials,
emailed prior to event). Save the Articles and bring them with you to the
event - we will provide the 3-hole Notebook cover and additional articles.
Pre-registration saves your space for the week, PLUS early
registration or $100 non-refundable deposit yields free written materials (by email)
PLUS:
MONDAY - Jan. 17th - 12noon to 4pm - is FREE to those attending the week-long INTENSIVE. Others
may attend that 4 hour Monday session for $40.

SPECIAL DVD SET - Available ONLY
to those attending the 2012 Monterey Intensive. The 2 DVD Set (2 hours)
-Discussing the Answers to the exam questions - will be available to everyone
for $50, starting in February. However, ANYONE registered for the Monterey
Intensive, may purchase that set for only $25. (whether or not you plan to take
the exam.) Just the information is extremely valuable.

TUESDAY-
Jan. 10th
12 - 1:30pm:
Discussion covering the entire week. Get your
specific needs noted -
Request things you'd like to cover. Skippy details an
overview of the
Universal Unit System & the various modules that make up
the System.
1:30 - 2:30: Introductory CRITIQUES to get the ball rolling - allows us
to discover
the elements needed to work on techniques that will
raise your education
as well as your personal performance. (Energy

Tracking - And More!
2:30 4pm: Upper Level Basics - Critical elements of "West Coast
101".
(The Psychology of Learning and how it relates to the
order in which
we teach patterns)
4 - 4:15 SHORT BREAK
4:15 6pm: Take the mystery out of the Latin Dances. Learn how to
ALWAYS
Break on "2" & "6" in Cha-Cha and Mambo.
WEDNESDAY -
Jan. 11th
10:30-11am: Review yesterday &
go over the Practice Exam. (NO requirement
to take the exam, but important information for all to
review)
11-12:30pm: Developing Torque turns
and the resulting exceptional whips.
12:30 2pm: Dissecting the MUSIC - All you need to know about MUSIC
in order to make your dance come alive.
(Bring your OWN music if you wish). Mind over Music -
Make music work FOR you.
2 - 3:30pm: LUNCH BREAK
3:30 5pm: COORDINATION Drills - Controlled Movement makes for
better
balance, better turns & rotations, creating a much
higher degree
of performance: Diamonds Diagonal Triples Break
Turns
Soft-Shoe Trucking And Yes! We are going to be
Skipping!
5 - 6:30pm: "West Coast 101" & how those techniques improve your
knowledge and
performance in ALL West Coast Swing.
THURSDAY- Jan. 12th
10:30 11: MOTION STUDY - (Sea-Tac-Stomp). Putting the Power where
it
belongs for the most positive effect.
11 Noon: More Critiques - emphasizing
DRILLS of the elements
that create the CHANGES that are required to elevate
your performance.
Noon 1pm: More "Significant Foundation Patterns" and incorporate more
Critiques
1 - 2:30pm: LUNCH BREAK
2:30 3:30: Separating Levels of Teaching to hasten the learning
process.

3:30-5pm:

No regular Classes for Intensive
10am Lead & Follow Workshop in the Main BALLROOM w/Skippy
(Available to anyone who is registered for the event
weekend)
10am-Noon: Exams Certification Exam (Exam fee must be paid by
December 15th).
Exam will be in the Training Room Monitored by GSDTA
Specialist.
